Guilty Pleasures: “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell” by Das Racist

PIZ-ZA HUT! TAC-O BELL! I’m at the Pizza Hut. Nooo. I’m at the Taco Bell. Noooo!

Does this count as a song? These are hardly lyrics. If you listened to the song, you can tell that the song is the duos Kool A.D. and Heems exchanging disbelief with one another both being at a Pizza Hut and Taco Bell at the same damn time. It’s a really funny song from what was a very funny rap group. What makes it a little more excusable was Das Racist’s actual ability to produce great songs when conjuring up the effort. These baked riffs just add to the character of the group showing their signature odd ball sense of humor. The song is basically like the Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle of music.

Not much to say about the musical aspect of the song. What you hear is what you get; not a single thought provoking moment offered. It’s just a gag song that was obviously never meant to inspire anything like that.

I can only hope that one day I’ll  find a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell that me and my friends can drive to while getting hyped listening to this song.
