Sorry for keeping quiet on the site the last few days everyone. The last days of finals and moving out of my dorm room have left me completely swamped, but I’m now on summer vacation and should be able to keep the site updated from here on out. There were lots of big bits of news that I’ve missed recently.
First things first, maybe the biggest of all: Kanye West announced his new album will be released June 18.
If that wasn’t enough for June 18th, Mac Miller announced that his new album Watching Movies With The Sound Off will also be released that day. Will it be a rerun of the battle between Kanye and 50 Cent from years past? Probably not, Mac isn’t at the height that 50 held at the time, but it should be a huge day nonetheless.
Also, Kanye West will be performing on the season finale of Saturday Night Live May 18th, and it would seem likely that he will debut new material.
Next, some new music that has already been released. Chance the Rapper released his sophomore mixtape this past Tuesday Acid Rap. It’s an awesome tape that you really need to check out. Chance is a very talented, unique Chicago rapper. Acid Rap features cameos from Childish Gambino, Action Bronson, Ab-Sol and more. I’ll be reviewing the tape within the next few days.
In the meantime, download the mixtape for free here.
Last, but not least, one of my personal favorites in the rap game Chuck Inglish dropped some new information. Chuck’s free album Convertibles has been delayed since it’s once set Halloween release, but now a new, separate mixtape is set to release this month along with Convertibles this summer. The information came along with the new single “Drops” and it’s music video, which you can watch below.
Lots to take in, I know. Plenty of to be excited for as well. Stay tuned.
