The Great Gatsby: New Jay-Z, Andre 3000 & Beyonce, and More

The Great Gatsby may be based on the classic novel based in the 20’s, but the soundtrack accompanying the upcoming film adaptation is cut from a modernized cloth. The soundtrack is set to feature original material from several current artists such as Jay-Z, Beyonce & Andre 3000, Florence and the Machine, Gotye and more. Now, the snippets have been revealed leaving many people excited for the grandiose songs.

My personal favorite has to be the fiery new “100$ Bill” from Jay-Z. The track features a Jay-Z who is seeing red, blazing through the instrumental (which ties in movie dialogue) while making several references to things from the era. The track is closely followed by the Beyonce and Andre 3000 cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black.”

Keep in mind, these are only snippets. The unveiling of the snippets alone has created quite the buzz, so I’m excited to hear the full versions of this soundtrack.

The soundtrack is set to be released May 7. Listen to the snippets collected together below.
