HAIM is a girl band out of Los Angeles, California that’s catching steam quickly. The band consists of three Haim sisters and drummer Dash Hutton. They’re weightless tunes flutter around 80’s synths and dancey vibes.
The band formed in 2006 but released their first official EP Forever in 2012. Along with their EP release, HAIM began to gain steam by supporting artists on tours such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Ke$ha, and currently Vampire Weekend. Despite having a seemingly specific genre, they’re really branching out in their endeavors which is spreading the word to fans all over. HAIM is even featured on Kid Cudi’s new psychedelic rap album Indicud, and their song “Red Eye” is really enjoyable.
They’re debut album is set to release this summer and they’ve been added to festival lineups such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo. All this material coming out this year is sure to get them noticed, especially if their album really pushes the limits of their aforementioned EP. With a solid album release, these festival dates are really going to bring HAIM to the public’s attention.
